Assured Care News Letter

Autumn 2016

 Changing Weather

It is that time of year when it starts to get colder and the evenings are getting darker. Please be mindful of this whenever you go out, wear weather appropriate attire and make sure you keep warm inside as the temperature starts to drop. Don’t forget you may be eligible for a free flu jab. Ask your Doctor, Nurse or Pharmacist for details. Staff can claim their flu jab from Boots on Commercial Road. If you have any concerns please speak to a member of office staff who will be happy to help you.

Care Support Workers

Our team has recently been joined by several new members of care staff. You may have already met some of them; Danny, Shannon, Danni, Hollie, Rebecca, Mistrala and Kay are all doing really well. Please join us in giving them a warm welcome. Our care staff do an amazing job, please keep sending in your compliments so we can pass your kind words on, it makes them feel so appreciated!

We have recently said goodbye to Beryl, Carol, and Angela. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

Office Changes

In the office we have recently been joined by two new Co-Ordinators. Holly, who you may know from her previous role as a care support worker, and Aimee who has moved over from our sister company St Ronans Nursing Home. They are both doing an amazing job.

Kerry has transferred across to work for St Ronans Nursing home.

Assessments

As part of our continuing care we carry out regular onsite reviews with all of our service users. These reviews give you the chance to make us aware of any changes to your care that may be required. They are also your opportunity to raise any concerns or compliments that you may have regarding any aspect of the service we provide.

When we contact you to arrange a review, we will do our best to accommodate your availability.

Changes to Call Times

At times you may need to cancel or change the time or day of your call. If you need to do this for any reason, please ring the office and let a member of the office team help you with this. The office will rearrange your call as required. Please do not inform a carer and ask them to pass the message on. Any changes to call times or cancellations will only be actioned if the office is contacted directly by the Service User or their family.

If for any reason the office need to make changes to your call by more than 30 minutes we will endeavour to inform you as soon as possible. If your carer has not shown up on time, please remember that we have an on-call messaging service. You can ring and leave a message and the member of staff on call will ring you back.

Infection Control

Our Infection Control Lead is Lee-Anne. If you have an infection yourself or any queries regarding an infection of somebody else; please feel free to call the office. We are happy to help.
